Description
This coffee maker is one of the most sought-after in the barista universe. The great feature of the Chemex is that with them you can control the entire extraction process exhaustively, so you can obtain a custom coffee in approximately five minutes.
The design is notable for its hourglass-shaped form, which has been designed following the patterns of laboratory chemical bottles. This is why this coffee maker is so well-known, as you can make coffee almost as if you were a chemist. This is why you can obtain a unique coffee, with a wide variety of nuances, depending on each person's preference.
This design line used by this product has been around for over 60 years, winning numerous awards for this.
Characteristics
Characteristics
It has a characteristic timeless and elegant design, in the shape of an hourglass and is made of a single piece.
It features original decorative elements of a polished wooden belt and a leather rope knotted over it.
It is made of non-porous borosilicate glass that does not absorb odors or chemical residues.
Thanks to its special paper filter (not included) and pour-over mode, it allows for a fractional extraction of only the desirable parts of the coffee bean, leaving the bitter residue in the coffee grounds and not in the cup.

If you want to know how to prepare a good coffee with this filter coffee maker, here are the basic steps you should follow:
1st- Place the filter on the inner face of the upper cone of the coffee maker, leaving the 3 layers towards the pouring vertex.
2º- Rinse the filter with hot water (not boiling) to eliminate any bad flavours, while also preheating the coffee maker.
3º- Once the above is done, remove all excess water.
4º- Place the coffee with a medium grind in the filter (30 grams in every ½ liter, although this information is indicative). We must keep in mind that the Chemex is designed to eliminate the bitterness of the coffee.
5º- Pour water at 93 ºC (a small amount) over the coffee to moisten it and release all the desired components of the coffee.
6º- After making the pre-infusion, pour more water on top until the base is soaked.
7. Once you have obtained the desired amount, you should lift the filter of the classic Chemex 6 with handle to remove all the excess.
It is important to keep in mind that it is vital to have water of the highest possible quality, so this must be taken into account.
