Meet Daniman
Meet Daniman
I was born on 15 September 1974 in Madrid and started swimming at the age of 3, competing from the age of 4. After moving to Alcalá de Henares, I was champion of Madrid at the age of 11 with the Iplacea Club. At the age of 13 I stopped swimming to practice other sports, and at 18 I abandoned the sport to start a family business and obtain the title of draughtsman.
At 22, a motorbike accident changed my life: I lost my right leg below the knee and, after 14 operations and a year of rehabilitation, I managed to walk again. With a new perspective, I decided to return to swimming, taking part in Spanish and European championships. I also took up water skiing and windsurfing again, and learned to ski on one leg. Thanks to a scholarship, I trained for the 2004 Paralympic Games in Athens and achieved my goal.
After Athens, I competed in skiing and was runner-up in Spain. I returned to focus on swimming, becoming Spanish champion in the 100 and 200 backstroke, competing against swimmers without disabilities.
In 2011, I got prosthetics for cycling and running, and I decided to complete a triathlon. Orbea collaborated with me, and in a year and a half I managed to become world champion in Aquathlon and runner-up in Triathlon. My sporting career continued until the great achievement at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games, where I won gold.
My next challenge is to continue enjoying life, and in the future, fulfill the dream of completing an Ironman.
Mocha Tips
Mocha Tips
Choose good coffee: Use quality ground coffee, preferably with a medium-fine grind. For best results, select fresh beans and adjust the grind to your taste.
Fill the water tank up to the valve: Avoid overfilling to maintain proper pressure. Use filtered water to improve flavor.
Don't press the coffee into the filter: Fill the filter with ground coffee without compressing it. This allows the water to pass through better and extract the flavours in a balanced way.
Low-medium heat: Set the coffee maker to low heat to prevent the coffee from burning. The process will be slower, but the result will be a smoother, more flavorful coffee.
Remove from heat in time: When the gurgling sound starts, remove the coffee maker from the heat. This prevents the coffee from cooking further and becoming bitter.
Stir before serving: Once the coffee is ready, open the lid and stir the contents so that the first and last shots mix, balancing the flavor.
Proper cleaning: Wash the moka pot after each use with hot water, without soap. Soap can leave residue that affects the taste of future preparations.
These steps will help you obtain a more intense, smooth and balanced coffee in each preparation.
