Grinding Settings
The Comandante C40 MK4 Black manual grinder is capable of any grind, from Turkish coffee to French press.

The perfect grind varies not only depending on the brewing method, but also on the type of coffee. Below are some general recommendations from the manufacturer.

First, set your grinder to point 0, which corresponds to the fully closed position.

To check, hold the grinder horizontally. If the burrs are open, you will notice the handle moving and dropping towards the 6 o'clock position. As you gradually close the burrs, you will adjust the grind levels. The zero point is the tightest setting, where the handle stops dropping (for example, from 9 o'clock). In this position, the burrs hold the handle firmly (if you tighten further, you could reach settings of -1, -2, etc., but you don't need to apply too much force). The numbering of clicks to adjust the grind always starts from the zero point.

These are the recommended settings:
– 5–10 Clicks for Ibrik.
– 10–15 Clicks for Espresso.
– 15–20 Clicks for Mocha or Italian.
– 22–32 Clicks for filter coffee, V60, Chemex, Kalita, Moccamaster, etc.
– 25–30 Clicks for tasting and French press.
– 30–35 Clicks for pot coffee.

The material from which the cutters are made is the result of extensive product research and development work.

But the attention to detail does not stop at the beautiful exterior design. Inside, there is a stainless steel shaft, crank and bearings. The bearings are micro balls and milling cutters made of martensitic stainless steel.

They have a high nitrogen content and are highly resistant to dentures.

These conical cutters are strong and very sharp.
