The story behind Las Flores
Las Flores farm was founded in 1990 by Edilberto Vergara and Nubia Ayure, both children of coffee farmers in Cundinamarca. Initially, only two of the 16 hectares were dedicated to coffee. But by 1998, the entire farm was already planted with coffee, as the family grew with the arrival of five children.

In 2006, Jhoan's mother took a decisive step: she participated in the Cup of Excellence, finishing 16th. That was her first step into the world of specialty coffee. Years later, after her death, she left a profound legacy to her children: a passion for quality coffee.

Jhoan took on the mission of researching and training in the field. Together with his brothers, Carlos and Diego, they decided to take the farm to the next level. They developed replicable profiles to highlight the potential of each variety. Today, Carlos and Diego are in charge of processing, fermentation, and drying, while Jhoan evaluates the experiments and grades the quality.

In 2019, Jhoan won first place in the Master of Coffee competition in the coffee grower category, standing out among 162 entrants with a semi-washed Pink Bourbon. This achievement confirmed that they are on the right path and motivates them to continue innovating and offering extraordinary coffees.

Jhoan Vergara shines again with an unforgettable coffee. This anaerobically washed Red Bourbon is an explosion of sweetness and freshness, with notes of pink gumdrops, green apple, and delicate hibiscus flowers.

Dak was born from a true passion for coffee and the desire to embark on a never-ending journey of discovery. We are located in Amsterdam.

We select our coffees based on their unique cupping profiles and, of course, that they are 100% traceable. We partner with importers who share our values ​​and carefully roast each of our coffees to deliver the best flavors they have to offer.

We roast on an IMF machine which provides a high degree of control and consistency in our roasts. The machine uses a convection system that allows the coffees to be properly developed in a shorter time. The result is clean, bright and sweet coffees.
