People Possession: Paris's Underground Coffee Phenomenon
Founded in Paris in 2023 by two coffee enthusiasts, People Possession positions itself as a survival guide for great specialty coffee — an underground culture movement that trades in steel cans, confrontational design, and flavour profiles no conventional roaster would attempt. Every blend starts from a flavour concept and works backward: select origins and processes that will hit that exact target in the cup.
BPM targets a warm blueberry pie. The Colombia component is a Los Patios co-ferment (The Coffee Quest's R&D facility in La Plata, Huila — see Blog #19) using red fruit concentrate during active fermentation, producing vivid berry aromatics baked into the bean's structure. The Peru washed lot provides the creamy, vanilla-sweet base — the pie crust and ice cream to the Colombia's blueberry filling.
"Is it coffee or is it a pastry? BPM is engineered to taste exactly like a warm blueberry pie topped with a scoop of melting vanilla ice cream." — Brewio
People Possession also produces WWE (Wild Watermelon Experience, Colombia + Kenya Gakuyu-ini) and PFX (Prime Flavor Experience, Colombia co-ferment blend) — all three available at BrewFusion.
