Description

Aragash Gelcha is a natural lot produced at 2150 meters above sea level in Halo Shashemene, within the prestigious Gedeb area, Yirgacheffe (Ethiopia) — a region recognized worldwide for its clarity, elegance and aromatic complexity.

Aragash cultivates coffee on his 5-hectare farm alongside enset (false banana) and fruit trees, supporting his family of 12 children while maintaining traditional and sustainable farming practices. Since the update to export regulations in 2018, he has worked to position his coffee in the specialty market, facing logistical challenges but maintaining a firm focus on quality.

The Kurume and 74110 varieties develop slowly thanks to the high altitude, which enhances the concentration of sugars and the floral expression.

The natural process involves drying the whole cherry on raised African beds, allowing the pulp to transfer fruit intensity and sweetness to the bean. The result is a clean, vibrant cup with a delicate structure.
