Description
Description
Benti Nenka is Ethiopia natural at its best: clean, floral, and fruit-forward.
From West Guji, this lot is processed at the Benti Nenka station, where around 500 smallholder farmers deliver their cherries. The extreme altitude and climate of the region allow for slow maturation, generating sweeter and more complex profiles.
The project combines local tradition with a modern processing structure, supported by community systems such as DEBO and DADO, where producers collaborate with each other.
This coffee was even selected for the semifinals of Nordics Best Roaster 2026, reflecting its quality level.
Process
Processed using the natural method, focused on fruit expression:
Manual harvesting of ripe cherries
Drying on raised beds
Constant turning for uniformity
Fermentation control during drying
This process enhances sweet and tropical notes with great clarity.

About da Matteo
About da Matteo
Da Matteo has transformed from its origins as a personal hospitality project into a multifaceted destination where craft, food, and culture converge. While its roots are in Gothenburg’s early coffee scene, the brand has grown into a broader philosophy led by principal owner Christofer, who views the guest experience as a seamless blend of sourdough baking, intentional kitchen work, and atmospheric retail. By integrating its own roastery and bakery into social spaces, da Matteo makes the act of creation a visible part of the environment, moving away from industry trends to focus on "intentional hospitality." Today, it is defined by a commitment to quality that guests can feel through the materials, the music, and the rhythm of the room, creating a communal setting where high-standard craftsmanship makes everyday life feel more generous and alive.
