Description

Cassis – Kenya is one of DAK Coffee Roasters' most anticipated releases this season. Sourced from an AA lot from the Thiririka Farmers Cooperative Society, this coffee is pulped and washed in Githembe, and then dried at the Kiganjo factory.

Grown on the slopes of Mount Kenya, between 1,600 and 1,800 meters above sea level, this coffee brings together emblematic varieties of the country: SL28, SL34, Batian and Ruiru 11. The result is a dense, structured and very juicy cup, true to the most recognized style of great Kenyan washed coffees.

In the cup, a deep character of blackcurrant and crème de cassis dominates, accompanied by a lively acidity reminiscent of rhubarb. The profile is intense yet clean, with a firm mouthfeel and a long, elegant finish. A coffee designed for filter brewing, where its clarity and complexity truly shine.

This batch reflects the meticulous work of the cooperatives in the area and the experience of Rungeto FCS, with precise processing practices that seek to maximize cleanliness, consistency and aromatic expression.

Dak Coffee Roaster

Dak was born from a true passion for coffee and the desire to embark on a never-ending journey of discovery. We are located in Amsterdam.

We select our coffees based on their unique cupping profiles and, of course, that they are 100% traceable. We partner with importers who share our values and carefully roast each of our coffees to deliver the best flavors they have to offer.

We roast on an IMF machine which provides a high degree of control and consistency in our roasts. The machine uses a convection system that allows the coffees to be properly developed in a shorter time. The result is clean, bright and sweet coffees.
