Description

El Corazón is a specialty coffee produced by Efraín Carhuallocllo in Chirinos, Peru, at 1700 meters above sea level. Recognized as one of the country's most innovative producers, Efraín has won awards in multiple national competitions and achieved second place in the first Cup of Excellence in Peru, consolidating his international reputation.

He primarily cultivates Caturra (yellow and red) and Geisha varieties, managing his farm and wet processing with extreme precision. Although he does not use herbicides or pesticides, he employs controlled fertilization to optimize productivity without compromising quality.

After hand-harvesting, the cherries are fermented for 48 hours before being transferred to raised African drying beds for a slow and even drying process that can last around 25 days. This careful process enhances clarity, longevity, and complexity in the cup.

The result is a vibrant and structured coffee, where notes of ripe stone fruit, juicy berries, deep dark chocolate and an elegant floral nuance stand out.
