Fluffy Petals is the washed Ethiopia coffee that marks the beginning of a new harvest.
Directly selected by Dak Coffee Roasters at the Lalesa station (Gedeb), this lot perfectly captures the classic Ethiopian profile: floral, citrusy, and extremely clean.
Grown at 2150 meters above sea level, this coffee develops a bright acidity and very elegant aromatic complexity thanks to slow maturation and meticulous processing.
The result is a fresh, delicate, and very expressive cup.
Process
Processed using the traditional Ethiopian washed method, focused on clarity:
Manual harvesting and selection of ripe cherries
Pulping and density sorting
Fermentation underwater (~48–100h)
Washing and re-sorting in channels
Drying on raised beds (~8–20 days)
This process highlights florality, citrus, and transparency in the cup.

Dak was born from a true passion for coffee and the desire to embark on a never-ending journey of discovery. We are located in Amsterdam.
We select our coffees based on their unique cupping profiles and, of course, that they are 100% traceable. We partner with importers who share our values and carefully roast each of our coffees to deliver the best flavors they have to offer.
We roast on an IMF machine which provides a high degree of control and consistency in our roasts. The machine uses a convection system that allows the coffees to be properly developed in a shorter time. The result is clean, bright and sweet coffees.
