Description
Description
Gedeb Lalesa is a modern expression of Ethiopian coffee, where tradition meets structure.
From the Lalesa drying station in Gedeb (Gedeo), this lot reflects the potential of one of Ethiopia's most renowned regions. Although the site is relatively new (2023), it has already established itself as one of the most organized and promising projects in the area.
Operated by Ephtah Specialty Coffee, this coffee is part of an approach focused on traceability, sustainability, and improving conditions for producers, with a special emphasis on the role of women within the value chain.
The result is a balanced, complex coffee with great aromatic definition.
Process
Processed using the natural method, this coffee develops sweetness and complexity:
Manual harvesting of ripe cherries
Drying on raised beds under natural shade
Constant turning for uniformity
Controlled drying to preserve the profile
This process enhances fruity notes and provides greater body and depth.

About Sumo Coffee Roasters
About Sumo Coffee Roasters
Sumo Coffee Roasters' mission is to create a transparent and ethical coffee business that highlights and celebrates everyone involved, from the producers and farmers who pour their heart and sweat into the craft to the baristas who create the finished product, and everyone in between.
Our goal is to ensure direct trade and that we pay a fair price to the farmers.
By helping educate consumers about the farmers' craft, by telling the story behind the bean, and by doing our best to achieve perfection in our roast, Sumo's plan is to elevate the standards and experience for all involved in the industry, innovating the way forward for coffee.
Sumo Coffee Roasters was founded in summer 2020 by 2019 World Cup Tasters Champion Daniel Horbat and his partner, Alexandra.
