Description

Naturals from Kenya are a rare find, but every once in a while, a batch so special it breaks the rules comes along. This year, we were fortunate to secure this treasure from Mtaro Estate, grown at 1,900 meters above sea level, where care and experimentation come together to create a unique expression of Kenyan terroir.

Hazy Clafoutis stands out for its enveloping sweetness and gourmand profile: delicate lavender, ripe black cherry, and freshly baked lemon pie. Its texture is smooth and creamy, with a bright acidity reminiscent of red fruits and candied citrus.

This lot combines the SL-28, SL-34, and Ruiru 11 varieties, processed using the natural method, a rarity in Kenya, where most coffees are washed. The cherries are hand-selected at their peak ripeness and slowly dried on raised beds, achieving a controlled natural fermentation that enhances the floral and fruity nuances.

The result is an expressive, elegant, and sweet coffee, with the clean structure of a classic espresso, but with the aromatic exuberance that only a natural Kenyan coffee can offer.

We select our coffees based on their unique cupping profiles and, of course, that they are 100% traceable. We partner with importers who share our values ​​and carefully roast each of our coffees to deliver the best flavors they have to offer.

We roast on an IMF machine which provides a high degree of control and consistency in our roasts. The machine uses a convection system that allows the coffees to be properly developed in a shorter time. The result is clean, bright and sweet coffees.
