Description
Description
La Colorada Geisha is a washed coffee produced by Eduardo Anacona Osso at Finca La Colorada, located in Villa María, Íquira region, Huila, Colombia.
This Geisha represents a more subtle and delicate interpretation of the varietal. While Geisha coffees are known for their intense floral notes, citrus acidity, and great aromatic complexity, La Colorada stands out for its elegance and balance, offering an approachable and refined cup.
In the cup, we find notes of sweet melon, starfruit, soft florals, cashew, and cherry sweetness. It is a clean and transparent coffee, where clarity and delicacy showcase the full potential of the Geisha varietal without being excessively intense.
Finca La Colorada is located in the hills of Villa María, in Íquira, Huila. Eduardo has worked this land for most of his life; he started cultivating coffee with his father when he was just 12 years old and acquired his own farm at 22.
Although the farm primarily produces Castillo, Eduardo dedicates specific plots to cultivating Geisha, a varietal that requires patience, precision, and special care, but which rewards with a cup of great clarity and elegance.
Process
This coffee has been processed using the Washed method.
Cherries are harvested and processed the same day to preserve the fruit's freshness and quality. Fermentation takes place in cement tanks, and then the coffee is slowly dried in parabolic dryers for nearly three weeks.
The farm is fully exposed to the sun, without shade trees, at an altitude between 1,650 and 2,100 meters above sea level, creating the necessary conditions to develop a clean, delicate, and expressive cup.
The result is a balanced and elegant Geisha, with a clear structure and an aromatic profile full of nuances.
