Description
Description
Long Miles Rubirizi Hill is a batch from the Rwenzori Mountains in western Uganda, processed at the Lunar Coffee Washing Station, founded in 2011 and managed by Long Miles Coffee. The station primarily works with the SL-28 variety, renowned for its structure, clarity, and ability to express ripe fruit with elegance.
Grown between 1600 and 1800 meters above sea level on nutrient-rich red volcanic soils, this coffee develops a natural concentration of sugars that provides depth and complexity in the cup.
The Natural Anaerobic Process begins with harvesting cherries at their optimal ripeness (18–24° Brix). After flotation and manual sorting, the cherries ferment for 60 hours in sealed containers with pH control (3.8–4.5). Subsequently, drying takes place over 10–15 days, covering the coffee during the hottest hours to prevent heat stress and preserve quality.
The result is a dense and expressive cup, where ripe fruit is balanced with caramelized sweetness and a spicy background that provides structure.
