🏞️ Washing Station & Territory
The Masha Washing Station is located in the Gihororo sub-hill and receives cherries from over 3,200 producers, who grow an average of only 297 trees per farm. This collaborative structure allows for meticulous processing at a centralized station. The coffee is fermented underwater for 12–24 hours, washed for two hours, and then slowly dried on African beds for 20 days.

Masha is not only known for its coffee, but also for its cattle-raising history. The name "Masha" comes from "amasho" (Kirundi for "herd of cattle"), and today it remains an area deeply connected to Burundi's agricultural and cultural traditions.

👨‍🌾 Producers
Masha's producers are part of a community where coffee is the primary source of income. Given the small scale of production (1/8 to 1/4 hectare per farm), the cherries are delivered to stations like Masha, where they are blended and graded for cup quality, following standards similar to those in Kenya.

🌱 Variety
Bourbon, the predominant variety in Burundi. This washed batch reflects the precision of the traditional Burundian process, resulting in a sweet, bright, and juicy cup with a citrus structure and clean character.

“Masha” is a classic coffee from northern Burundi, with vibrant character, lively acidity, and a clean sweetness that stands out in every sip.
