Melao Decaf is a decaffeinated Pink Bourbon coffee from Huila, Colombia, produced by small farmers in the region.

This lot brings together coffees from different family farms, many of them managed by second and third generation producers, who work in a traditional way and continue to perfect their practices to improve cup quality.

Grown between 1,400 and 2,000 meters above sea level, this coffee reflects the sweet and balanced character typical of Pink Bourbon, one of the most valued varieties in Colombia for its clean, elegant and consistent profile.

The name Melao refers to a traditional syrup made from panela, very present in Colombian culture, and perfectly describes the character of this coffee: sweet, round and comforting.

Process

This coffee has been processed using the washed method, followed by a natural decaffeination process known as EA (Ethyl Acetate or “Sugarcane Decaf”).

In this method, caffeine is removed using ethyl acetate derived from sugarcane, applied directly in Colombia near the origin. This process allows for maximum preservation of the coffee's aromatic compounds, maintaining its original profile.

The result is a caffeine-free coffee with all the flavor, smooth, balanced and true to its origin.

In the cup, it presents notes of red apple, almond and toffee, with a silky texture and a natural sweetness that makes it a perfect choice for any time of day.
