Monkaaba SL28 is a modern reinterpretation of one of coffee's most iconic varieties.

Cultivated in San Agustín (Huila) by a group of producers, this lot combines SL28 genetics — famous in Kenya — with the Colombian terroir, resulting in a vibrant profile full of character.

Developed within the Semilla project, this coffee stands out for its focus on rigorous selection and precise processing, achieving a clean yet highly expressive cup.

The result is a bright, structured coffee with a very pronounced juicy acidity.

Process

Processed using the washed method, with detailed control:

Selective picking every ~21 days
Flotation and manual selection
Dry fermentation (~36h in tanks)
Multiple washing
Slow drying in the shade (~20 days)

This process highlights clarity, structure, and complexity.
