Description
Description
Grown in the highlands of Nyeri, this Muthuaini AA comes from small farms belonging to the Mutheka Farmers Cooperative Society, an organization that brings together various small-scale producers in the region. The Muthuaini station is one of several production units of the Mutheka Farmers Cooperative Society. Each farmer works a small plot and brings their cherries to the station after harvest, where they are sorted and depulped before undergoing a careful washing process. Drying then takes place on raised African drying beds, with regular sorting to ensure a clean and consistent coffee. Our lot comprises the SL28 and SL34 varieties, iconic to Kenyan coffees, supported by Batian and Ruiru 11. These beans are processed using the washed method to preserve the purity of the cherries.
In the cup, Muthuaini AA offers a very fruity and luscious experience. Mango initially provides a tropical, ripe, and juicy character, before pear adds a more delicate sweetness and a melting texture. Finally, redcurrant awakens this sweetness with a crisp, fruity acidity. The exotic fruit provides depth, the pear provides sweetness, and the redcurrant extends the tasting experience. An expressive and balanced cup, with the characteristic freshness of Kenyan coffees.
