This washed coffee from Nyamyumba Washing Station, in the Rubavu region of western Rwanda, perfectly embodies the elegant and structured style for which the country is known. Grown between 1,500 and 2,000 meters, Rwandan Bourbon develops a bright acidity and a beautifully integrated natural sweetness.

The Nyamyumba station was built in 2006 and has the capacity to process up to 496 tons of cherries per year. The small-scale farmers who deliver here cultivate an average of 400 trees each, in nutrient-rich volcanic soils along the high-altitude hills surrounding the Congo Nile Trail, overlooking Lake Kivu and very close to the Gishwati National Forest.

The washed process brings clarity and definition to the cup. On the palate, fresh notes of red apple and grapefruit emerge, followed by a warm sweetness reminiscent of caramel, with a medium body and a clean, comforting finish.

In addition to its cup quality, this batch contributes to Sucafina's Beyond Flagship program in Rwanda, which supports coffee-growing families through regenerative agriculture and income diversification, strengthening long-term sustainability.
