Description

This coffee comes from La Lia, the farm and micromill located in Santa Rosa de León Cortés, Tarrazú, managed by brothers Luis and Oscar Monge. The farm has been in the family for almost 70 years, but it was in 2008 that the brothers took full control of production and began producing specialty coffees under their own mill, named in honor of their mother, Lia.

Located at 1,700 meters above sea level, La Lia benefits from a cool, stable climate that promotes the slow ripening of the cherries, resulting in a higher concentration of sugars and a very pronounced natural sweetness. The farm is divided into different plots, and all harvests are carefully separated by variety, plot, and harvest date, guaranteeing complete traceability.

This batch is made from Red Catuai and processed using the White Honey method, which removes the fruit's skin but retains a small amount of mucilage during drying. The result is an exceptionally clean and silky cup with delicate sweetness and remarkable aromatic clarity.

Whether espresso or omni, the profile is smooth, round, and comforting, with notes of nougat, fresh apple, and a creamy touch of vanilla, maintaining a perfect balance between sweetness, body, and moderate acidity. A versatile coffee, ideal for both espresso on its own and milk-based drinks.

The collaboration with Luis and Oscar Monge has been ongoing since 2012, and year after year their coffees stand out for their consistency, cleanliness and elegance, reflecting the extreme care they apply at every stage of the process.
