Description
This Geisha from Finca Osopén, in Villa Rica, is one of the cleanest, juiciest, and most floral expressions of Peruvian coffee. Its profile combines stone fruit, ripe pear, bright citrus, smooth milk chocolate, and a delicate touch of jasmine, showcasing the natural elegance of this variety.
Behind this plot is Gino Marín, a third-generation coffee farmer and a key figure in the CEPRO Yanesha cooperative, where he promotes projects that connect indigenous identity, sustainability, and exceptional quality. The farm is cultivated using an agroforestry system, which allows for slow and uniform ripening thanks to the natural shade of the forest.
The cherries are harvested at their peak ripeness, determined using a refractometer to measure sugar content. After an initial sorting by flotation, they are left to rest for 12 hours before pulping. The washing process accentuates the Geisha's clarity, highlighting a floral, sweet, and very defined profile, with a fresh acidity and a silky body.
The result is a clean, fragrant, and balanced cup, where jam-like sweetness is integrated with fresh, floral nuances, representing the essence of high-altitude coffees from the Yanesha region.
