Description

Finca Santa Elena is operated by Cafelino. In the highlands of Boquete, in the province of Chiriquí, Panama, Cafelino cultivates various Arabica varieties, prioritizing sustainability, biodiversity preservation, and the exclusive hand-picking of coffee cherries.
The Obata variety in this lot remains relatively unknown in the specialty coffee world. Developed through a genetic improvement program combining Timor Hybrid and Villa Sarchi, it was cultivated to offer excellent disease resistance without losing its remarkable aromatic potential. Grown at high altitudes, as in Santa Elena, it produces a smooth, structured, and expressive cup. The washed process fully highlights this fineness: after harvesting, the cherry pulp is removed before a controlled fermentation phase designed to eliminate the mucilage. Afterward, the beans are washed and slowly dried on raised African beds.

In the cup, Obata Washed is a sweet coffee; Brazil nuts provide sweetness, followed by caramel with a rich and creamy texture. Finally, notes of dried figs envelop all the aromas, giving this coffee a fascinating balance.
